These ten days will allow you to explore Peru’s most enigmatic mountain fortresses; Machu Picchu and Kuelap. Machu Picchu needs no introduction but Kuelap is a place of the beaten path for many people. Located in the Northern Andes these contemporaries of the Incas withstood the pressure from their neighbors down South which was quite the feat. The site is visited nowadays with a brand new cable cart something that is also unique in Peru. Apart from Kuelap and Machu Picchu we will also visit Cusco, the Sacred Valley and the northern destinations of Chachapoyas and the fifth highest water fall in the world; the Gocta Falls.

Summary
In order to start your journey the right way, today we will take you on an exploration of the city of kings; Lima. Home to almost one third of the population this massive city has a lot to show for. Colonial buildings, old pre Inca temples, world class museums, the Pacific Ocean and not to forget the new star of the show; Peruvian gastronomy.

Today we will collect you in the morning from your Sacred Valley Hotel and take you to the train station for your train to Machu Picchu. On arrival you will be assisted and by bus taken to this crown jewel of the Andes where you will enjoy a private guided visit. After some free time in the afternoon you can head back to town and your hotel for the night.
On day two of your Machu Picchu visit you can head up to site in the early morning and enjoy the day at leisure in this magnificent surroundings. If available we will also include the ticket to climb Huayna Picchu. In the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and return to Cusco where you will be taken to your hotel.
Today you start with a free morning to unwind and enjoy the beautiful city of Cusco. The central location of your hotel will allow you to explore this historic city center on foot. In the afternoon we will collect you for a guided visit of the city as well as the 4 impressive Inca ruins located on the outskirts of town.
After the impressions of the last couple of days, today we will head back to Lima where we will connect with a flight to Chachapoyas. Chachapoyas is a quiet Andean town in North Peru and the base to explore the marvels of this region. On arrival you will be welcomed and taken the beautiful Gocta Lodge.
Today you have a day to unwind at the Gocta Lodge. This unique hotel will all rooms pointing to the fifth highest waterfalls on the planet, the Gocta Falls is a heaven of tranquility. Enjoy the large gardens, the view or the infinity pool throughout the morning. In the afternoon we will hike to the foot of the falls allowing you to really appreciate the height of this majestic fall.
Today in the morning we will have to say goodbye to the Gocta Lodge and will head to the Fortress of Kuelap. We will drive to the newly inaugurated cable cart taking you high into the mountains to this spectacular site. Your guide will accompany ay you on this visit, explaining all about this little known site and the accomplishments of the Chachapoyas Tribe. In the afternoon we will head back to the town with the same name where you
