As the Andes Mountain is somewhat the spinal column of this country with altitudes well over 6,000 meters (20,000ft) over sea level, Peru is a hiker’s paradise. Around Cusco and Machu Picchu one can find hundreds of miles of original Inca Trails. These trails will take you over snowcapped mountain passes and past deep blue lakes to some of the most impressive Inca sites in the country. In the northern Peruvian Andes however we find even higher mountains with the Huascaran and Alpamayo Mountains the two biggest challenges around. Whether you prefer doing one day hikes and sleep in comfortable hotels or would like to be hiking for days and camping your nights; Peru has some amazing possibilities for you.
