This ten day trip is designed for those who love the mountains and highlands. The order of the trip also allows for a good acclimatization due to the gradual ascend. Before heading to the Inca highlands we will, after visiting the capital of Lima, first stop at the beautiful city of Arequipa with its neighboring volcanoes and unique monastery. Next we will head to the Colca Canyon, twice as deep as the Grand Canyon and home to one of the largest birds, the Andean Condor. Once acclimatized to the altitude we will end this trip visiting the Inca capital of Cusco and the peaceful Sacred Valley leading to the highlight of your trip; Machu Picchu for a two day visit.

Day to day Itinerary

Day 1; Arrive to Lima, pickup, transfer to your hotel & overnight
On arrival to Lima you will be collected at the airport and directly taken to your hotel in the upscale neighborhood of Miraflores or Barranco. Here you can unwind after your flight and get ready for the start of your Peru journey.
Day 2; Full day excursion in Lima
In order to start your journey the right way, today we will take you on an exploration of the city of kings; Lima. Home to almost one third of the population this massive city has a lot to show for. Colonial buildings, old pre Inca temples, world class museums, the Pacific Ocean and not to forget the new star of the show; Peruvian gastronomy.
Day 3; Fly to Arequipa & afternoon visit to the historic city and monastery
In the morning we will head to the airport for your flight to Arequipa. On arrival you will be taken to your hotel to relax for a while. Later in the afternoon we will start exploring Arequipa with your guide. We will visit the historic center and the famous Santa Catalina Monastery. Optional we can also visit the Museum of the Ice Maiden; Juanita.
Day 4; Guided excursion to the Colca Canyon & overnight
From Arequipa we will set course for the Colca Canyon. The drive will take about 3 hours and en route we will stop at several interesting points. One of these stops we will be at the literally breathtaking Volcano Viewing point at almost 5,000m. (16,000ft.) above sea level. From here we will descend into the Canyon where your hotel is located. In the afternoon you will have the chance to visit one of the thermal baths in the Canyon, known for its healing powers.
Day 5; Visit to the Cruz del Condor & return to Arequipa
Today will be an early morning departure as we will have to get to the Cruz del Condor viewing point early. In the morning the thermal winds are best for the Andean Condors and therefore chances highest to spot these majestic birds flying overhead. From here we will start returning to Arequipa and your hotel and en route enjoy a couple of fascinating stops.
Day 6; Fly to Cusco & afternoon guided excursion of the city and surroundings

Now that we are acclimatized to the altitude our next stop will be the city of Cusco. In the morning we fly from Arequipa to Cusco and on arrival be collected and taken to your hotel in the city center. In the early afternoon you will be collected for a guided visit to the historic city as well Sacsayhuaman and three other impressive Inca ruins surrounding the city.

Day 7; Full day guided excursion to the Sacred Valley
From Cusco we will head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas today. Here we will visit the typical Pisac farmers and artisan market but also enjoy a guided visit of two well-known Inca fortresses; Pisac and Ollantaytambo. In the afternoon we will take you to your hotel in the valley where you can enjoy the peacefulness of this beautiful valley.
Day 8; Train journey to Machu Picchu & guided visit
Today we will collect you in the morning from your Sacred Valley Hotel and take you to the train station for your train to Machu Picchu. On arrival you will be welcome and by bus taken to this amazing site where you will enjoy a private guided visit. After some free time in the afternoon you can head back to town where your hotel is located.
Day 9; Morning visit to Machu Picchu, hike Huayna Picchu and return to Cusco
On day two of your Machu Picchu visit you can head up to site in the early morning and enjoy the day on your own pace. If available we will also include the ticket to climb Huayna Picchu. In the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and from here returned to Cusco where you will be taken to your hotel.
Day 10; Transfer to the Cusco airport for your outbound flight
Today is the final day of your trip and according your flight schedule take you to the airport. At Cusco Airport you can embark your flight to your next destination.
